Reality Casting

There are literally millions of aspiring actors and actresses who audition for reality shows each year. The key is knowing where to look and choosing the right reality show audition for you. If you are one of the lucky ones, then an audition in a reality TV show can become your reality.

The first step would be to find a reality show audition. You should check the internet for any reality show auditions that may be available, or if you have a specific one in mind, you can go to their network’s website to look for more information. Before you try out for an audition, you should read all the guidelines, rule and regulations, and qualifications for the show. Most shows require the participants to sign waivers that will free the show’s network from any liabilities. Once chosen, you will undergo a physical, emotional and psychological evaluation. As for reality shows that showcase your talents, you should read that product and creative rights that the producers receive if you were to win. The next step would be preparing for the audition itself.  Some reality shows will require you to submit a video of yourself before you go in for an actual face-to-face audition. If you are committed, you should review past episodes or seasons (if there are any) of the show, so that you can get a hint of the type of person that they are looking for. If you are to pass a recording of yourself, make sure it will grab the attention of the producers. If the program calls for an open audition, be sure to get there early (possibly a day before the actual audition) and be prepared to be at that site for at least 12 hours. You should always be dressed to impress. This doesn’t mead dressing wildly; this would just distract the judges. Dress in clothes that look good on and complement your personality. Always practice your talent or what you plan on presenting before you arrive at the audition. Have your family and friends watch you perform and ask them to give you comments on your performance.

When going for auditions always brings snack and water as you might be there for a long period of time. If you plan on changing costumes, bring a bag with you. Give the producers a reason to consider investing in you. Remember to be upbeat, lively and have a fun attitude in your demo tape and during your love auditions. Judges and producers of any reality TV show enjoy watching people who can catch the public’s eye.
